Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant known for its profound impact on the immune system, collagen synthesis, and overall longevity. Frtil Vitamin C is a whole food form of vitamin C sourced from organic acerola cherry, one of the richest natural sources of ascorbic acid. Unlike its synthetic counterparts, acerola cherry contains numerous micronutrients and phytochemicals, delivering health benefits that extend beyond ascorbic acid.*

Vitamin C serves as a foundational addition on its own or alongside The Baseline Bundle for more comprehensive support. It pairs especially well with Beef Liver and Oyster (Zn), helping create a well-rounded, food-forward approach to building resilience and overall vitality.

Although synthetic and food-sourced vitamin C possess identical chemical compositions, we favor whole-food vitamin C for its richness in beneficial phytonutrients such as carotenoids, phenolics, anthocyanins, and flavonoids. Our formulation consists of only one ingredient – 100% organic acerola cherry, enclosed in a vegetable capsule derived from non-GMO tree pulp. Frtil Vitamin C provides a substantial dose of vitamin C compared to other whole-food vitamin C options on the market, providing an ideal equilibrium for individuals looking to avoid synthetic ascorbic acid yet desiring ample Vitamin C intake.

FRTIL Vitamin C FAQs

Why is FRTIL Vitamin C freeze-dried?

Acerola cherry is naturally rich in Vitamin C, a nutrient that’s especially sensitive to heat, light, and oxygen. Freeze-drying allows us to preserve vitamin C by gently removing moisture at low temperatures, rather than relying on heat-based drying methods that can degrade delicate nutrients.

Synthetic vs. Whole-Food Vitamin C — What’s the difference?

FRTIL Vitamin C is a whole-food form sourced from 100% organic acerola cherry, rather than a synthetic isolate. Synthetic vitamin C is isolated ascorbic acid, while whole-food vitamin C comes packaged with naturally occurring cofactors such as bioflavonoids and enzymes found in the original plant.

We choose whole-food vitamin C from acerola cherry not only because it naturally contains a high amount of ascorbic acid, but also because it provides a broader spectrum of supportive phytonutrients, including phenolics, flavonoids, anthocyanins, and carotenoids.

Why do synthetic Vitamin C supplements contain much higher amounts per serving?

Many synthetic Vitamin C supplements on the market provide 500 to 1,000mg per serving. These high doses can increase the risk of overconsumption and, in some individuals, have been associated with elevated urinary oxalate levels.

More importantly, research shows that when single doses of vitamin C exceed approximately 500mg, absorption efficiency decreases and excess vitamin C is simply excreted in the urine, offering no additional benefit. Vitamin C is best supported through smaller, consistent—or even frequent—amounts rather than large, isolated doses.

Do you add ascorbic acid to standardize Vitamin C levels?

No. Our formula contains Vitamin C exclusively from organic acerola cherry, with no added synthetic ascorbic acid. Because we work with the whole fruit, vitamin C content may naturally vary from batch to batch based on factors like seasonality and growing conditions.

As a result, vitamin C levels per serving may fluctuate slightly, and we reflect these changes transparently on the most up-to-date product label.
