Why does Oyster (Zn) carry a Proposition 65 (Prop 65) warning?
Due to the natural presence of heavy metals in oysters, all Oyster (Zn) bottles include a Proposition 65 warning in compliance with California heavy metal testing regulations.
Over the course of six months, we tested oyster samples from seven countries worldwide and selected the source that offered the highest micronutrient content with the lowest detectable levels of heavy metals. While we are extremely selective with our sourcing, the reality is that no oyster product—whether fresh, canned, freeze-dried, or otherwise—can fully meet the strict thresholds established by Prop 65.

Why Oyster Meat + Zinc Glycinate?
FRTIL Oyster (Zn) is formulated using pure freeze-dried oyster meat along with a small amount of zinc glycinate. After extensive global testing, we selected our oyster source for its superior micronutrient profile and low heavy metal content.
While oysters naturally contain zinc, we wanted to provide a product that delivers a meaningful and consistent amount of bioavailable zinc. Pairing natural oyster zinc with zinc glycinate allows us to offer enhanced zinc support while still benefiting from the full spectrum of naturally occurring cofactors and minerals found in oysters.
Is this safe during pregnancy?

What are your capsules made from?
Our capsules are made from 100% non-GMO bovine gelatin and contain no pork.
Are your oysters cooked?
FRTIL Oysters (Zn) are gently heated to 95°C (203°F) prior to freeze-drying.
Freeze-drying preserves nutrients and shelf stability but does not eliminate harmful pathogens on its own. By fully cooking the oysters first, we significantly reduce the risk of microbial contamination while maintaining the integrity and nutritional value of the final product.
In contrast, our Frtil Beef Liver is freeze-dried raw, as it does not carry the same contamination risks as oysters and can be safely processed without a pre-cooking step.
